Taking an ordinary rattle reel to another level!

Justin Klein and Roger Ridler founded Northern Lights Rattle Reels in small-town Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes, cold winters, and a top ice fishing destination. They turned their idea into a patented and manufactured product, believing that excellent customer service and building personal connections are key to their business.

I live in west-central Minnesota near Sacred Heart with my wife, and we have four adult children and one granddaughter. My full-time job is as a self-employed electrical contractor, and from October to January, I ship Northern Lights Rattle Reel orders, answer customer questions, and attend vendor shows. In my spare time, I enjoy vacationing in Mexico, Jamaica, or the Dominican Republic with my wife and kids. My wonderful wife, Tonia Ridler, owns Travel by Tonia and coordinates our travel adventures. When I can find the time, I also enjoy hunting and fishing—though that isn’t very often!

I live in West Central, MN, with my wife and three young children. We live on a hobby farm and love the outdoors. My full-time day job is as an Account Manager for an electrical equipment company.  My other job started out as a creative hobby in a small town garage that stemmed from my love of fishing and the outdoors.  It has since turned into a prospective business and partnership. I am proud to say that Northern Lights Rattle Reels continues to grow and invite new opportunities for my partner and I. With a vision focused on innovative technology backed by a passion for family and fishing, we continue to enjoy creating new products and sharing with others who enjoy our same hobbies.
